Come Indoors for Lots of Treats!

Come indoors for lots of treats!

Hello Market Friends, and Happy Hallowe’en:

If you read the news via email or facebook last night, there have been a few last-minute changes! They are noted at the bottom of the news.
When it comes to market-day weather, you win some, you lose some, and when it’s the latter, you keep your fingers crossed that people will be hungry, loyal and eager enough for good market food that they’ll still come. And since it’s Hallowe’en, we’re offering a wee reward of market bucks to anyone who shows up in costume!

To make things more pleasant for all, we are moving indoors this week. Thanks to Clay and Paper Theatre for cleaning up so promptly and so well after Night of Dread, and thanks to the Recreation staff for shifting things out of the garage to make room for the vendors. Next week we’ll be celebrating 17 years of markets at Dufferin Grove, and if the weather improves we may move back outside. Indoors or out, we’ve got lots of delicious goodies:

Jens from Marvellous Edibles will have fresh pork and ducks in addition to their full range of vegetables, greens and lots of apples.

We also have a special guest vendor introducing her products: Laura McKinney of Pasta Pianta handcrafts fresh pasta from organic, Ontario grown flours and unused aquafaba* acquired from local businesses as an egg replacement to bring together a wholesome food staple with innovative plant-based practices. Laura will be offering samples in the garage.

*aquafaba is the cooking water from beans such as chick peas
