Yes folks, (although not official yet), winter definitely seems to be making her presence known. So I say, why not embrace it? And at Dufferin Grove, we’re incredibly fortunate, as we have a fantastic outdoor skating rink! So you can pick up amazing eats at Thursday’s farmers’ market, and also get in a little cardio – all in the same visit! And if you don’t have skates of your own, the rentals are free. What could be better?

And (this coming Sunday), there’s also a craft market! So on December 15th, from 11am – 4pm, you can get started on (or continue with), your holiday shopping, while also supporting local artisans in the community. You may even recognize some of our very own farmers’ market vendors there! And if you’re able to pass this on to a friend or two, we thank you. 💜

And speaking of “two markets”, that is precisely how many we have left for this year. Just December 12th and 19th, 2024. (We return from the holiday break on January 9th, 2025.)

Hooray For “Echo Women’s Choir”!

Tis the season, indeed! And this Thursday (December 12th), the Echo Women’s Choir will be there to remind us of that – in song! The choir folk plan to show up at 6pm, and would love it if market shoppers (like you), would sing along with them. And the above photo, some of you may recall, is from last December, 2023 – (December 14th.) How time flies! At this time last year, we were “outdoors” for the entire month of December, holding the market on the park’s basketball court. (The clubhouse building was not open to us until mid-January, 2024.) What a difference a year makes!

Lots More Good Eats At The Market!

Victor, Nathan’s dad, (of Nith Valley Organics), looked deep in thought, as he waited to collect a delicious samosa from David (of Magic Oven.)

Many would agree that capers and fish go together quite nicely. And thankfully, you can find both of those, at this week’s market. Talk to Seth, of Forbes Wild Foods, for a quick “lesson on capering”. He’ll definitely have some other ideas on how to spruce up a charcuterie board with these yummy delicacies. But if fish is where it’s at for you, (whether smoked or fresh), Fisherfolk has you covered!

Monforte Dairy’s cheese is available every week at the market – and also goes well with capers.

“Smiling Dave”, of Rogers Ranch, also “showcasing” his products. His frozen beef (and chicken) broths are just $12 each – (or two for $20!) And (as previously mentioned), Rogers Ranch has just two markets left (at Dufferin Grove.) Dave’s last market with us is on December 19th.
