Support the Market

As many of you know, 2022 is the 20th year of Dufferin Grove Organic Farmers’ Market. For two decades the market has brought together farmers who produce wonderful organic food and people in Toronto who want the freshest, healthiest food they can buy. Over these years, a community has grown, made up of people like yourselves who truly love the market and depend on it for sustenance both nutritional and social.

It has been an amazing roller-coaster ride  –  good years, not-so-good years, some very challenging years! In 2020 we kept going, in spite of COVID and lockdowns, by switching to an online format. Many of you told us that being able to still “go to the market” in this way helped you through those dark times. And this year has brought even greater changes. Everyone is so glad to be back in the park, but in a new spot. At the same time we’re keeping the delivery service going for those of you who find it hard to get to the physical market. 

But now, dear friends, your market is in serious financial difficulty.  Ongoing pressures from COVID, delays and challenges with the Canada Revenue Agency, and unforeseen financial pressures, have led to a short-term cash flow challenge.  And we are reaching out to you who love the market for help. We need to raise $10,000 dollars in the next month.  Can you help? Can you donate $100?

If $100 dollars is more than you can manage, we understand completely. Anything you can give will help. We know that you all want this wonderful community resource to continue for another 20 years. But there is a real risk that if we cannot raise the money we need now the market may not be back next year. Please don’t let that happen!
