OUTDOORS, at 875 Dufferin St
*full vendor list here
At last! Starting this Thursday, (May 22nd), the market is fully outdoors! Please join us this week, “on the west lawn”, (facing Dufferin Street.) We’ll be there until the end of October. What a season it will be!
(Feature photo: fresh leeks, also sometimes called “ramps”, available from Forbes Wild Foods.)

Hard-working David, of Nith Valley Organics, is happy help with your “bok choy needs” – thanks David! 💜

Hooray! We’ll have dairy again! Monforte Dairy finally returns to the market this week.

And another “finally”. The wait is over folks! Jiggy Popz, at last, returns to the market! I predict that Karim will be very busy!!
I caught up with some of our returning growers as well – namely Knuckle Down Farm and Sundance Harvest. (Both of whom will be at this week’s market.)
Cheyenne, (of Sundance Harvest), tells me she’ll have the following, this week:
“I am bringing a lot of bouquets, mainly pink shades with some light blues. I am also bringing salad greens, greens in general, pea shoots, radish microgreens, green garlic, herbs.”

And Jenny (pictured), of Knuckle Down Farm, tells me that we can expect this:
“I hope to have lots of greens (lettuce, spinach, mixed greens), salad turnips, radishes, green garlic, rhubarb, cilantro. I will bring some lilacs to cheer up the place if it insists on raining.”

First Fish is also back at the market this week. They will be alternating weeks, with Fisherfolk, starting May 22nd.
Full vendor list here.
Please note that lots of other vendors will be joining us later in the season. Next week for example, Aldergrove Farm returns. Stay tuned for more updates!
Potatoes (and much more), from Plan B Organics.

Chicken drumsticks, and (below) eggs, both from Nith Valley Organics.

Seedling varieties from Urban Harvest.

Delicious baklava, from Alma Bakery.

A thoughtful shopper perusing the Forbes Wild Foods table – so much to choose from!
A Reminder For Next Week..
On May 29th, we will host another “Baby & Kids Clothing Swap”! And this year, books are included! And (as per usual), there will also be a much-cherished “sing along with Nash”. And this year, a new event/activity has been added to the lineup! Laura Wood will do a “Baby & Me, Movement Class”!
The schedule (for May 29th):
*3:15-6:15pm – Swap (Clothing & Books – no toys please)
*4:00pm – Yoga (with Laura Wood)
*5:30pm – Sing Along (with Nash)
Thanks so much to Sarah and Nat, for all of your hard work on this. 💜
Toronto Public Library will also be at the market (on May 29th.)

Kalmplex, of “Kalmplex Snax“, here, offering samples to market customers, of his incredible dried fruit. Please know that Kalmplex will only be at the market until 5pm – but thankfully, just for this week, (May 22nd.)
What The Duck?!!
Hopefully that wasn’t too “spicy” for this newsletter. Ha ha! Forgive me, I just couldn’t resist. I mean, we actually had ducks, at the market last week!

Young Rhodeo, seen here, with his (yellow) duck, “Mr Peepers”, and the other, being “Taco”, was thrilled to be at the market, with his webbed friends. I didn’t dare tell them that Nathan, of Nith Valley Organics, was selling duck eggs, (just across the way.)

“Yummy things”, from Johnson Family Bakery – look for all this, and more! (Swedish knots and scones, pictured here.)
Thanks everyone, and see you Thursday – “on the grass”!

Beautiful narcissus from Taha Floraa, at last week’s market. Ashun, (farmer/owner), hopes to be back next month. His supply is out for the time being, but he looks forward to returning to Dufferin Grove soon.
