Jumping’ Through June With Pride!????

Yes folks, at last week’s market, we actually hit the halfway mark for June – wow! I just love that there’s so much to celebrate in this fabulous month!

And this is in addition to spectacular strawberries, that you can pick up from Reyes Farms. These are Ontario June-bearing, as well as being organic – just delicious! Get them while you can!

And in addition to strawberries, how about giving a shoutout to all of the amazing dads out there? Who, hopefully, got an extra hug or two on Sunday. Happy belated father’s day dads – we appreciate you! xo

And speaking of dads, in our feature photo, are two of “farmer Rodrigo” (of Plan B)’s children, Nora, and Emiliano (in the background) – must be great to have such adorable helpers!

And this coming Wednesday, June 21st, also being the summer solstice, is the official kickoff of summer. I’ll definitely be doing a cartwheel or two – but that’s just me! haha ????????‍♂️
But if you weren’t planning on “cartwheeling for summer”, how about just celebrating the first full day of it, (June 22nd), with some delicious eats, at your favourite farmers’ market? (Every Thursday, 3-7pm.) ☀️

And of course, this coming weekend (June 24th), is Toronto’s annual Pride parade – just incredible! And with this year’s theme being “Here, There, Everywhere”, how fitting! I definitely hope that this year’s Pride, brings you joy – here, there and everywhere. xo

Now I’m sure there are lots more amazing things happening this month, around the city, and around the world – but alas, I have a farmers’ market to brag about!

So last week it was great to welcome back Sundance Harvest! Cheyenne was thrilled to have had an amazing first market! Her cherry tomatoes and snap peas were a definite crowd-pleaser – that I sadly, missed out on. But Cheyenne will have more next week – come early if you can!

Last week we also welcomed a new musician to Dufferin, Jacob Lasby. Jacob thoroughly enjoyed performing for us at the market, and thanks everyone for being so warm and cheerful. Hope to have you back soon Jacob!

And, this coming week, we’ll be welcoming back Kooner Farms to Dufferin.

Word from Indy on what he’s bringing: “greenhouse cucumbers, tomatoes, fresh garlic, radish, some zucchini, little bit of eggs, red/green kale and lettuce.” Feast your eyes!

Our (bi-weekly) returning vendors: Knuckle Down Farms, Spade & Spoon, First Fish, Grounded Pantry, and CrepeDeLaCrepeTO.

Forbes Wild Foods sends regrets (in advance), as they will not be at market this week, but return next week.

The Children’s Clothing Swap is also back on this week! Sarah (and crew), send apologies that it did not happen last week, as they had to postpone due to (forecasted) weather. But to those who still came and dropped off clothing, we thank you!
And to reiterate (details): “Size – newborn and up. Bring your clothes & shoes in clean and good condition (no toys), anytime after 2pm, (June 22nd).”

And something to look forward to..
repair cafe

Some of you have asked me about Repair Cafe, and whether they will be at Dufferin this season – well at last, the answer is YES!

Starting next month, they will make three appearances at the market: July 20, August 17th, and September 14th. I’ll definitely post reminders (and details), closer to – but know that you can get your stuff fixed this summer – yippee!!

Ok, that will do! Thanks for reading, and hope to see you at the market.. ????
