Have No Fear

Have No Fear
At Night of Dread, there’s always a chant about laughing at fear and death. We’ve got it relatively easy at the market; we just have to laugh at some puddles this week! Wear your rubber boots and enjoy them like a kid, and wear your Hallowe’en costume, too, if you like. We’ll have honey sticks for kids of any age who do.

ChocoSol has produced wonderful chocolate treats to share with your favourite tricksters!Meanwhile, our farmers continue to present a remarkable variety of produce. From way down south near Lake Erie, north almost as far as Georgian Bay, a little bit west and a long way east, they keep on pulling the most interesting and delicious things out of their fields for us!  I never imagined we’d see local lemongrass on offer (the bunch in the photograph above, and the hot peppers up top were on Shared Harvest‘s tables last week), and I wonder how many of us had heard of items like watermelon radishes before there was a market in the neighbourhood. We are a lucky bunch of eaters!”Everdale is bringing spinach, arugula, salad mix, bok choi, watermelon and daikon radish, green onions, kohlrabi, winter squash and a pile of more roots. Carrots, parsnips, celeriac, rutabaga, salad and purple top turnip, beets. Oh, and broccoli!!” Kyle

Last week for Earth & City! Thanks for the great food, gals!

We’re going to move the Dufferin Park Bakers’ bread and snacks into the garage and the other ‘south end’ vendors onto the rink for the day as there may be some leftover gusts of wind from the west. Otherwise, it will be pretty much business as usual, apart from the possibility of a few spooky visitors.
See you at the market!
