Happy 2021, Market Friends!
I hope you have enjoyed some restful time over the past weeks. It is nice to be back, corresponding with our farmers and vendors, and thinking about all the good things we have to offer you!
Please note that we have a few absences and some vendors who will be coming every other week for the next while. A full list is below.
The Market Roster:
Kooner Farms, Thorpe’s and Aldergrove are finished until spring.
MotherDough Mill & Bakery and Sosnicki Organics are attending the market this week and every other thereafter.
Absent this time:
First Fish, Green Florin, Marvellous Edibles, Monforte Dairy and Sundance Harvest.
We have products from all these wonderful vendors this week:
Alchemy Pickle Co., All Sorts Acres, Alma Bakery, Bees Universe, Buschbeck Farms, ChocoSol, Earth + City, Forbes Wild Foods, Helen Mends, Kawartha Broom Company, LaPapampa, Nature’s Way, Reyes Farms, Robinson Bread, Spade & Spoon, Summergreen, TC’s Tibetan MoMo, Tapioca Toronto, Urban Harvest, Windswept Cider, and Ying Ying Soy Foods.
While it’s blustery outside, it’s a great time of year to stay cozy with craft projects and comfort foods, and engage in a little armchair agritourism with Jennifer Osborne’s shots of winter life at All Sorts Acres.
Along with delicious sheep milk dairy products, Jennifer has Fibre Surprise Packs in small or large, great for experiments with knitting, felting, weaving or crochet.
Traditional or trendy, everything old is new again; why not try your hand at upcycling or visible mending? Helen Frank has put together handy Mending Kits with assorted must-haves to repair your favourite garments.
If you are a serious or novice home baker, be sure to re-stock the pantry with MotherDough’s excellent fresh-milled flours. Carole will be coming alternate weeks, so it’s wise to plan ahead.
Sosnicki Organics will also be coming every second week, so this is the one to load up on perogies, cabbage rolls, sauerkraut, and their wonderful storage crops.

Lhundup and Tsewang, our Much-loved MoMo Makers, have two new kinds of momos, both featuring fine local ingredients. Along with Beef or Vegan, now you can choose Cheese-Spinach or Organic Tofu-Spinach. Don’t forget their MoMo Sauce, and Chili Oil if you like it really spicy! Before you head out into the snow, peruse Buschbeck Farms’ assortment of warm handknot toques and socks. For apres ski, we’ve got Reyes Farms’ Apple Cider for mulling, ChocoSol‘s dark Drinking Chocolate, and Nature’s Way popcorn. Ed and Holly are also adding to our winter produce selection with sweet potatoes, kale, garlic and squash. Sending out wishes for a bright and hopeful year ahead, Anne & the Market Crew |
