April Excitement

Hello Market Friends:
On the farms, greenhouses are filling up (that’s one at Marvellous Edibles above), and behind the scenes at Market HQ, things are getting crossed off the to-do list for the outdoor market season. The excitement is building! Many people are starting to ask when the market will move outdoors. We won’t move down to the path until sometime in May, but throughout April you’ll find the vendor list getting longer, and some vendors who just can’t wait setting up outside along the building.
Here’s the news:

We are so happy to welcome Colette of Urban Harvest back to Dufferin with seeds, garden amendments, and her rich store of gardening wisdom.

Bliss for all you chocolate lovers, ChocoSol has returned to weekly attendance!

Olivia from Huber’s Wildwood Farm will be bringing bacon, lots of other pork, and leaf lard (the ultimate for flaky pastry, and a top notch source of vitamin D). She is attending every other week right now.

Jason of Island Oysters will be shucking 6 distinct varieties of Canadian oysters, harvested weekly to ensure you are enjoying the freshest oysters possible.

Spade & Spoon and DeFloured will be absent.

Vasile from Green Florin hopes to bring more vegetables and greens from Pine River Organic Farm this time.

Drumroll, please….At 5:00, we will determine which two lucky Loyal Eaters will be the winners of Market Goodie bags! Any card-holders with ten stamps who haven’t claimed their rewards and signed up for the draw yet should make sure to do so before 5. If you’ve already signed the list, don’t worry if you plan to shop at a different time; we know how to find you!
See you at the market!
Anne Freeman
P. S. I’ll be away from the market for the next few weeks, but a trusty team of guest editors will be writing market newsletters, and our excellent webmaster, Peter Wills of word and data, will make sure they get to you. Go team!
