Lots of News for the First Market of February

Lots of News for the First Market of February

One of our most beautiful products is Kind Organics Cosmic Blend salad mix, which brings so much colourful joy into a salad bowl that I love to take it to potlucks. When there is a pile of edible flower petals at the top of the bag, it’s a feast for the eyes.

If you’re curious to see how they do all the remarkable things they do at Kind, have a look at this video made when Curtis Stone visited the farm. You can see Tamas and Sandra‘s son Sasha and farm manager Julian working full tilt, and you’ll be amazed at the scope of the whole undertaking.

Wolf‘s Produce List: “Everdale is proud to purvey the following home-grown goodies this Thursday: fresh spinach, fresh baby kale, red beets, candycane beets, golden beets, white beets, our famous carrots, celeriac, onions, parsnips,  parsley root, specialty radishes, rutabaga, salsify, turnip, and butternut squash.

And here’s a snippet of sunshine to remind us of what’s ahead!  We’ll all be having rainbow chard sword fights before you know it.”

Vasile Florin will be in attendance again with delicious dried fruits, nuts and sunflower oil.

Mark Skinner will pay us a call, too; “Windswept Cider will be bringing our 2016 single variety ciders; Spy, Russet and Crimson Crisp. We are busy with work in the cellar at the moment. Blending trials for our 2017 ciders has started and they are tasting great!” Cheers, Mark & Courtney

Out in the garage, ChocoSol will get you thinking ahead to Valentine’s Day, and Jennifer from All Sorts Acre is coming, busy though she is getting ready for Landmade, where she will join other local fibre producers in bringing all things wooly to the Gladstone Hotel this Sunday. You may find Jennifer carding wool or spinning between lamb sales.

Bees Universe and DeFloured will be absent.

The time has come for us to bid a very fond farewell to a dedicated member of our Dufferin team, Pia Perez. We will miss Pia’s energy and kindness, and her many special touches around the market. She has promised that she’ll be back to visit soon. In the meantime, THANK YOU AND BON VOYAGE PIA, and we wish you all good things!!

See you at the market!
Anne Freeman
