Everdale’s Ginger, Ready to Plant

You can feel the strength of the sun when it comes out these days. My Mother used to tell me that her Mother told her that March sun was the best thing for getting stains out of fabrics. The sun is spoiling the rink for skating, but it’s pulling the seedlings up in our farmers’ greenhouses. Has anyone seen a robin yet? It won’t be long now….

Here’s a fine list of produce from Everdale:
“We are pleased to bring the following items! SPINACH, BABY KALE, and SPECIALTY GREENS, oh my! Plus dry beans, red beets, gold beets, white beets, carrots, yellow onions, parsnips, rutabaga, salsify, and turnips.
Big news this week: We are planting our ginger for the year! Check out this beautiful organic seed stock. In just 7 months we will enjoy the tasty results. Yum.” Wolf Chrapko

John from Bees Universe is bringing along his knife sharpener, so you can get your knives sharpened while you shop! So handy!

Sneak Preview: Next week we have a special celebratory first market of spring planned. Blythe from Spade & Spoon and Seth from Forbes Wild Foods will be testing your tastebuds with different grades of Maple Syrup, Island Oysters will be shucking fresh Canadian oysters, Windswept Cider will be sampling and selling, we’ll have sap boiling on the fire, live music, and lots of fun! Tell your pals! Better yet, bring ’em!

See you at the market!
