You may not associate bad weather with bargains, but last week’s storm left Best Baa with extra cheese, so they’re having a sale at Dufferin: “We are selling off our overstock of soft cheeses for $5.00 each! That’s the Ramemberts, Sheep in the Meadows and Brebettes. We made too many for Easter.”
Damon from Culture City wrote to say he’s got dosa batter in the works. He’ll give you full instructions on how to use this slightly fermented batter to make delicious crepe-like wraps for veggie curry or other fillings.
Gardeners have been asking about the return of Urban Harvest. The wait is almost over, Colette returns with seeds, soil amendments and body care next week.
Our winter Loyal Eaters program wraps up this week. Last chance to get your tenth maple leaf! I’m particularly hoping Saulis Tribinevicius makes it to market. Back in early winter, when he realized that travel plans would mean he couldn’t collect enough stamps for a reward, it seems Saulis had a moment of despair, and tore his card into little tiny pieces. Then he realized he could give the card to his sister and she could collect in his absence, so they carefully reassembled the jigsaw of scraps with a lot of tape, and they’ve made it to 9…. Thank you all for making this winter a better one for the vendors. We’ve really enjoyed seeing and hearing how committed to supporting the market our loyal eaters are!
Some people just can’t stop collecting!
See you at the market!
